Minor procedure fees:
Steroid injection with local anaesthetic $50 - please note there is no Medicare rebate available for this service.
Prescriptions:
There is a fee of $10 if you request a prescription outside the time of your appointment.
Dr Campbell's usual appointment time slots are generous to allow for thorough clinical assessment, and allow ample time for questions. However, in rare circumstances where this is required, the practice reserves the right to charge up to an extra $50 for highly complex or extra-long consultations. For example:
- Initial consultation duration >> 60 minutes
- Review consultation duration >> 45 minutes
Telehealth and telephone consultations
In-person consultations are preferred for new patients to ensure the opportunity for a thorough assessment and examination. Telehealth appointments will be considered on a case-by-case basis for new patients.
Telehealth consultations are available for subsequent review appointments. Please discuss this with our team at the time of booking.
You will be sent a link to the secure telehealth platform in your confirmation SMS. After your appointment, you will be sent an invoice and secure payment link via email. If you prefer to pay over the phone, this can also be arranged.
Telephone consultations are available. However, please note the Medicare rebate for a telephone consultation is $42.30, regardless of complexity. This is less than in-person and telehealth consultations and will result in a higher out of pocket cost. As such, please consider this carefully before booking a telephone consultation.
Medicare rebates and payment
A valid referral and Medicare card is required to claim a Medicare rebate. A referral from your GP will generally be valid for 12 months from the date of the first visit (unless it specifically states it is an indefinite referral). Referrals from other specialists will be valid for 3 months from the date of the first visit. There must be a valid referral in order to claim a Medicare rebate for ongoing care. As such, the practice routinely requests updated referrals when your previous referral is due to expire. Your referring doctor will not be able to backdate referrals for past appointments. For further clarification, please visit Services Australia - Referrals for Specialist Treatment.
Full payment is required on the day of your appointment. We prefer EFTPOS. We accept cash, however we do not keep change on-site. We are unable to accept cheques. After payment, where possible your Medicare rebate request will then be submitted on your behalf. Medicare then will deposit the rebate into your nominated bank account.
You may be eligible for a higher Medicare rebate (and therefore reduced out-of-pocket cost) if you have reached your Safety Net threshold for the year. For more information, please visit Services Australia - Medicare Safety Net.
